(It seems like it’s been forever since I’ve posted a family session!)

During this session with the Halls we did a lot of swinging, telling stories, and playing games. Somewhere between Simon Says and Ring Around the Rosy we got some great family pictures! It helps that these kids are so adorable.

I worked with the Mayo family while they were all in town, from across the country, to celebrate their family reunion. Our Oklahoma skies were threatening rain throughout our session; aside from a few droplets and intense muggieness we made it! I think this is a good example of how an overcast day can enhance a photo session.

I met with the Lodes Family to take their portraits.  Our session ended up being pushed back dut to the arriveal of the newest family member who is only 6 weeks old (he did a great job, by the way)!

We wanted to take the photos in the Myriad Gardens, but with the recent closure for renovations we needed a new location.  We decided to take our session along the one of the Bricktown Canal parks and I am so pleased with how the location worked out.  I think it was the perfect setting for our session!

I had planned with Raegan’s family to meet them at Hafer Park, but when I arrived there a few minutes early, the park was absolutely PACKED.  Unbeknownst to me, there was a giant “LARP”ing event going on that evening.  I quickly called Raegan’s parents and re-routed them to to my other favorite local place to shoot, Bickham-Rudkin Park.

Raegan was pretty zonked at the very beginning of our session, but it didn’t take too long for him to get into it and really started working’ the camera.  So cute!

The Perkinses contacted me to take family photos over Easter while they had family in town. I previously took photos of their youngest daughter and was excited to see how much she had grown, as well as meeting the rest of the family.

I was really happy as I watched little spring leaves unfolding over the weekend. I knew our shoot on Sunday would be nice and green, and I was not disappointed.

I recently took these maternity photos for Andrew and Jessi. I grabbed a couple of my very favorite pics from their session. I really can’t get over Jessi’s beautiful glow in the the first picture. There is nothing quite as beautiful as a glowing mommy to be!

Jacob and Jen celebrate five years of marriage this year. Jen wanted to commemorate their special anniversary by having pictures taken. I have posted a few of my favorites below. Congratulations on your anniversary. Here is to many many more to come!!

You might remember the pics of Chase and Avie I did a few years ago, well they have sure grown up since then!  I met up with them out at Hafer Park.  We played on the jungle gym, fought dinosaurs, and had a blast, running around and taking pictures.  We lost “Gavin” at one point (see the green dinosaur below), but we found him waiting for us  in a pile of sand near the duck pond.  Whew!  Disaster averted!!

Hooray! We found Gavin! All is well in the world…

Amber and Matt did an in-studio maternity session with me recently. Our session was very laid back and informal, as maternity session often are. I’m climbed ladders, messed with light stands, maked sure clothes lay right around Amber’s gorgeous belly, etc. We took a ton of creative shots, and do almost as many outfit changes as a senior photo session. Thanks for the great session guys!

I met with John and Kathryn to take their family photos. Their son had just taken his first steps a few weeks prior to our session, and he was so proud to show off his new moves. He and his parents were great to work with and are such a sweet family!

Brooke’s family moved here from across the country earlier this year. They wanted to have pictures of her and their new puppy in a setting that reflected Oklahoma.  Brooke was wonderful to work with and the fall leaves were showing off some nice color where we were shooting. The puppy really enjoyed the fall day too. He wanted to run, sniff, jump, and play everywhere… except in front of the camera.  I still managed to get a couple with him though.

The back of their card was inspired by the children’s mother who thought it would be funny to use an outtake picture there. We selected an image where it looks like her daughter is trying to jump out of the picture and her son is screaming. I loved her idea!

I often hear my clients exclaim “I just can’t decide which pictures I like best!” There are so many options available for a single image that it can be overwhelming! Janey asked me to meet her and her family in a field in North Edmond to take their photos. We arrived just as the sun was just rising. As we walked around we found a patch of little flowers the girls could pick. They were so excited; they kept bringing flower after flower as they picked them. The field was a truly great location and best of all these pictures have a very Oklahoma feel.

During these family pictures Sarah asked me to take some pictures of her holding her son. She already some with her daughter at the same age, and she wanted to have a set to hang at their house. These should be the perfect addition!

I am running an unadvertised special for the first 3 people who contact me wanting maternity as well as pictures of baby’s first year.  Shhh it’s a great offer!!

Here are some photos from a session I did on Good Friday. I know I always gush over the little kids I get to take pictures of, but I can’t help myself! I mean look at him… isn’t he adorable?!

One of the best parts of my job is the opportunity to work with babies during the first weeks of life.  I was amazed when I met Gisela and saw her gorgeous full head of hair.  She had that super soft crinkly baby skin too.  She was such a sweetie to photograph!
