Our Christmas Card

I’m really excited about our family Christmas Cards this year… Especially now that they are finished!! We have a picture we actually both look good in, which I put on a card template I customized, and I had the pictures printed on recycled paper (we are pretty stinking excited about the recycled paper).

I have always made too big of a deal about our Christmas Cards, and I make just as big of a deal over getting my clients Christmas Cards right! When I make a Christmas card for a client I set up a meeting where we talk through size and finish options, select the right template to customize, and make touch ups to the selected photo(s). I want you to be as excited about your cards as I am about mine!

Ordering just became much easier

I am so excited to let everyone know that ordering prints at Abbey Northcutt Photography just became much easier! All photo galleries are now posted Pictage. Pictage is an online service which allows you to review your prints online, change from Color to Black & White or Sepia, crop your images, select the size you want, and pay with a credit card! Friends and family, can access your gallery and purchase prints as well!

Think about how great this is for a Wedding or Party… all your guests now have the ability to see, and buy that great shot we got of them doing the electric slide that they would have never known about! …and Brides this takes the stress off you, because now you don’t have to print a bazillion pictures for everyone! Just send them to your online gallery, and let them enjoy the 50% discount they will receive as part of your wedding package.

I’m so so very excited about how easy this will make client purchases, that I have posted a photo gallery with a few pictures of Max (our puppy) for everyone see how easy ordering is! …BTW it is a live gallery so don’t actually purchase a picture of Max unless you REALLY want one. I often hear my clients exclaim “I just can’t decide which pictures I like best!” There are so many options available for a single image that it can be overwhelming! I have been brainstorming about how to make the process easier… and I have a solution! I now offer complimentary meetings at my studio or in your home to build your unique photo package. At the meeting we will review the online proofing gallery of your images, and talk through why particular images may be better than others. Then I will help make sense out of the vast array of printing options available. It’s the final step that can take your pictures to the next level!

ReThink: Packaging

There are so many wonderful options out there for packaging photos in. Glossy boxes to put photos in, fun tissues to stuff bags with, and beautiful ribbons to tie it all up with. As a person committed to recycling and making a minimal impact on the earth, I had to decide would I use the beautiful glossy packaging I longed for or stick to my guns and go the granola route.

When it comes to design, I’m not really a person of compromise. I decided I had to have to have it both ways. I found great recycled paper sleeves for CDs, everything I print goes on recycled paper, including your photos (you never would have known!), and I put everything in re-useable bags which are free of bleaches or dyes.

…and I even found a nice eco-friendly paper ribbon to tie it all up with after all!

Today we closed on the sale of our house! We were able to sell it in this extreme “buyer’s market” for our asking price, without putting it on the market, or using a Realtor! My husband was walking our dog late one night when he randomly met the buyer. Talk about God orchestrating something awesome! I have posted some before and after shots of our house. It was an adventure for Zac and I to do all the remodeling ourselves (including the tile in the bathroom)! Even though I have a degree in Interior Design it took my skill set to a entirely new level. It was certainly an invaluable experience!
