Jennifer Bellah, a photographer from Huntsville Texas contacted me a few weeks ago asking if I could assist her as a second shooter on an upcoming wedding here in Oklahoma City. I was happy to help! I love seeing how other photographers work and second shooting is a great way to do that! Jennifer was wonderful to work with too!!

The bride and groom were also great to work with; such sweet people! Their wedding was absolutely gorgeous. It was my first time to shoot a wedding at Rose Briar Place. It is such an nice venue. The chapel, reception hall, and bridal suite are all located in close proximity to each other (makes everything easier) and the beautifully renovated facility provided a great setting for the photographs.

This post is not as extensive as a regular wedding post because I did not photograph every aspect of the wedding, but I have selected a few of my favorites to share.

It was wonderful getting an email from Stacey last fall asking me to photograph her wedding!  Stacey and I were co-workers several years back when Zac and I lived in Dallas.  We were thrilled to head down to Dallas to document her big day!

Brandon and Stacey tied the knot at the newly completed chapel at Watermark Community Church in Dallas, TX.  It was a drop-dead gorgeous location to shoot at.  I absolutely loved the bright chapel where the ceremony was held.  After the ceremony, everyone drove over to Prestonwood Country Club, where the reception took place.

We had a great time shooting Brandon and Stacey’s wedding and visiting Dallas.

Zac and I had the privilege of being the first photographers to shoot a wedding at the Red Inn at the Sand Plum in Guthrie.

Jim and Jocelyn met in the upstairs suite where we took photos of them together before their ceremony.  The Ceremony was Officiated by a friend of the Bride and Groom, in front of an intimate gathering of friends and family.  After the ceremony Jim and Jocelyn headed outside to the balcony for a few quick pictures.  You can see their big happy smiles, after saying “i do.”

Once our photo op was over, they headed into their reception  It was held in a building adjacent to the ceremony location. The reception had a beautiful ambiance created by the gold ceilings highlighted with beautiful chandeliers, exposed brick walls, and hardwood floors.  The reception was deejayed by Ray of Kickin’ Karoke & DJ Services, who did wonderful job. Jim and Jocelyn, Congratulations on your marriage!

You may remember Amanda and Heston from their engagement session photos. We had a great time shooting that day, and I really looked forward to shooting their wedding. I knew the wedding would have some of the same concepts as the engagement session, ie: the countryside, a touch of retro style, and great soda. Amanda did a fantastic job of pulling everything together beautifully.

They held the ceremony and reception out in the country. I was so impressed with all the detail put into the event. They put together all the bouquets and made the wedding cake themselves. Notice the lighting above the dance floor. It was made of 600+ twinkle lights placed in individually hand-drilled holes… and it looked AWESOME. To top it all off, Amanda actually designed and sewed her dress! All the planning and hard work definitely paid off!!

We just finished up a really great season of weddings… I am so excited to share them with you! Over the next few weeks I will post them here on the blog for you all to enjoy. So stay tuned…

Wedding Season kicked off for us this year with Chris and Stephanie’s wedding. We took formal photos prior to the ceremony at their new home before heading to the Oak Tree Clubhouse for their wedding ceremony. The ceremony took place overlooking the pristine golf course–what a great setting! After the ceremony, everyone headed to the reception, and enjoyed food and drink as the sun set on the greens.

Jacob and Jen celebrate five years of marriage this year. Jen wanted to commemorate their special anniversary by having pictures taken. I have posted a few of my favorites below. Congratulations on your anniversary. Here is to many many more to come!!

The reception ran smoothly with the guidance of event coordinator Lindsay Roe. One end of the Grand Ballroom was set with tables, while the other end, where the ceremony took place, was cleared of chairs, and became the dance floor. As the dance floor started filled, I noticed many of the people in the wedding party with beer steins. I found out that the Groom and his father had brewed all the beer for the reception. Notice the grooms Cake? It was coved with a hops vine (a major ingredient in brewing).

Emory and Jessica said their vows in the Grand Ballroom of the Sand Plum. It was plain to see they love each other.

As the sun set on Guthrie, the wedding party for Emory and Jessica’s wedding began to arrive at the Sand Plum Event Center. I snapped some pictures with the groom before heading to the bridal suite where Jessica and her bridesmaids dressed.

Congratulations to Heston and Amanda on their engagement! Zac and I are so looking forward to photographing their wedding at Heston’s home in Stillwater June 2010. For their engagement session, we walked around my favorite new shooting location, Bickham-Rudkin Park, and took pictures while the sun rose, then we headed over to Pop’s for a really some fun shots.

The ceremony and reception were lovely and the evening flowed so smoothly with the guidance of the event planner Donna Curtis of De’Boise Catering .  This was my first time to work with her, and it was a pleasure.

Tyler and Jana got married at Festivities. It is an impeccably restored Georgian-Style Post Office in downtown El Reno.  It was a fantastic venue for their wedding.  Jana dressed in their bridal chamber on the second floor, while guests arrived at the courtyard below where the ceremony would be held.

Ben and Jennilee  wedding ceremony took place in a family member’s backyard a few weeks ago.  The Ceremony was simple, relaxed, and absolutely beautiful!  Ted’s Escondido catered the event.  The lovely cake and floral arrangements were designed and put together by Jennnilee’s talented sister.  Oh, and the Groom’s Cake (the cheese cake) was made by none other than the groom himself!

Nathan and Haylie decided to do some pictures on their own after their reception.  We had a rather quick photo session in a nearby park in the 100+ degree weather, after which we ran to Marble Slab where they shared a Banana Split.

After the ceremony everyone stepped into the youth center where the reception took place. The space, which was the former sanctuary, was transformed by Haylie’s mother with a little creative lighting to set the tone.
